Biodiversity Month celebrated at Mudgee Seed Savers

03 September 2001

We celebrated Biodiversity month on the 8th September at the Mudgee Markets here in Lawson Park with a public presentation.

Mudgee Markets are mainly a morning event from 8am to 1pm, and our Mudgee Seed Savers had a display of seeds and gave away Seed Savers' Network heirloom seeds to interested people.

We are trying to make seeds and plants from our local seed network more accessible to our community by starting a stall at our local monthly market in Lawson Park here in Mudgee.

Hopefully this will become a venue for swapping seeds, plants and information, as well as being a fund raiser for our environment group. Being part of the markets may provide more exposure and exchange for us than meetings in private homes, so we're going to give that a go.
