We have been saving seeds and using local varieties on our Community Farm.
Just as one example of the benefits of local seeds, the health and vitality of the local lettuce varieties has amazed even me. We still have a lot to learn about seed saving.
As many circles of people in society are starting to chat about how to bring about the shift from thinking and acting globally to locally, I'm sure knowledge about seed saving will become increasingly important.
We will need to improve our seed saving as people now do seem to like
what we are doing with seeds. |
